All tatted up

This piece is going to be my way of showing being addicted to getting tattoos. My idea is to do old school japanese style tattoos and then I'm not sure what else. Everything else will fall into place once i finish drawing the tattoos on. The white out line drawings are not done yet but I thought I would post what I have been creating so far.

Background

I stated to do a background this weekend and this is what I came up with. No idea yet how its going to be an addiction/habit but it will all work out in the end.

Concentration Piece 3 (kind of)

Confession... I went through a huge artists block today and had no ideas/inspiration. I sat thinking forever and stressed myself out sooo much because I have all this pressure on myself to do better than I did last year. And I do believe I can do better than I did last year, my goal is to make my concentration this year really well done so I can at least score higher than a 3 and I felt that I shouldn't do a piece just because of a time frame and be rushed. I really didn't want to rush myself and do something bad because that is exactly what I did last year and I was not happy with the outcome. Here is what I have for this piece so far and I have no idea what to do/what the habit/addiction should be. I know you have all seen this and its nothing new but here it is... See you all tomorrow, hope you all did well on your three pieces.

Concentration

For my concentration I want to explore collage aspects in a painting style while still focusing on peoples good and bad habits. For example: A person being addicted to drugs--- not painting the person doing the drug but painting what would be going on while they were experiencing the drug. Like a mixture of trees, bright colors, animals, flowers, food, etc. Its hard to explain and needs working on but this is what I have came up with so far. I want to stick with a collage type style because it is something I have not worked much on but I do like what I have came up with, such as the cardboard piece I did in the summer and the current cupcakes one I have been working on in class.

Here is an update on one of the backgrounds I posted. I took a page out of my sketch book that I liked and painted it onto this. But I have a problem. I'm not exactly sure what saying, quote, word, etc. I should put in the smoke. Any ideas?

This is just a background and I'm having a bit of a blank. I do this alot with paintings, I get ideas for backgrounds and get really excited but then once they are finished I find it hard to figure out what I want to put on top of the backgrounds. Any Ideas?
